Volunteer Spotlight: Jenny Conley

Tell us a bit about yourself – where do you work and what do you do?

I am a business development and marketing professional who has worked in the legal marketing industry for over 14 years in the areas of business development, marketing, PR, and communications. I recently started a consulting business called Align Consulting Group, for professional services firms. Our team has a combined experience of over 75 years in providing unique and customized solutions for professional services firms. Everyone has worked in-house at various professional services firms at one point in their career. We provide services in the legal, accounting, real estate, finance, A&E, and medical industries.

What’s your role in LMA?

I am currently the Vice-Chair of the Midwest Chicago LSC. As Vice-Chair, I work with Jason Klika, the Chair, on the development of programming that adds value to our membership. I also facilitate and provide direction to our programming volunteers.

What do you enjoy about volunteering for LMA?

I joined LMA when I first started to work in legal marketing. What I have found as a volunteer over the years is that LMA is a community of individuals who care about the development and advancement of our members and non-members in the legal marketing industry.  LMA is very unique in that the organization’s members are always there for people to help discuss challenging projects they are working on, help network with members when they are looking for employment, and provide words of encouragement when needed. LMA cares so much about its members and the legal community.

What hobbies do you have?

I enjoy spending time with my family. My daughter is actively involved in swimming and soccer. We spend a lot of time outside whenever possible.

Where’s the best place you’ve traveled internationally, and why?

My favorite places to travel internationally are Paris and Rome. My husband and I went to Paris and Rome for our honeymoon. We both love art, culture, and food. Paris and Rome have all of that and more.

Do you love to cook? Or eat someone else’s cooking?

I really do like to cook, but often do not have time to do so. When I do have time, I tend to follow a recipe to a point and then improvise based on what I have in the kitchen. Some meals turn out great! Others, according to my husband, have tasted like cardboard.
